POHANG IN JULY
Two ships in existence
Where sea meets the sky
Though close from a distance
It’s a trick of the eye
See the dragonflies flutter
Afloat in the air
Just like how you let her
Believe you were there
CICADA SERENADE
A voice emerges from afar
As you sit with a guitar
That you have borrowed just to try
To write a soothing lullaby
With coffee or hibiscusade
And a cicada serenade
A whisper wanders through the street
Recounting stories incomplete
Half-way true and made of dreams
Of kings and heroes and their queens
As madmen dance among the graves
To a cicada serenade
Within the hills, beneath the grass
A mumble travels through the past
And as the lotus leaves unfold
You listen to the tales you’re told
Until you slumber in the shade
Of a cicada serenade
DRAGONFLY GARDEN
Weaken my worry with the warmth of a song
Don’t you know it has been far too long
Since my mind was at ease
In the light summer breeze
In the glowing green
Carry my thoughts on the trail of a tune
To a day at the far end of June
Where the spiderwebs sigh
And the white heron cries
At the edge of dawn
Where the pine forest croons
Where the third flower blooms
And pale clouds are pinned
To a blueberry sky
And dragonflies fly
Through the perfume of lilies) on the wind
Cradle my hope in the arms of a child
And let all of my daydreams run wild
In a while I’ll be there
In the garden somewhere
In the golden sun
Here the pine forest croons
Here the third flower blooms
And pale clouds are pinned
To a blueberry sky
And dragonflies fly
Through the perfume of lilies ~
Through the perfume of lilies ~
Through the perfume of lilies on the wind
