Last Sunday, January 28th, was a day of many firsts: the first music event of the year, my first online performance, and my first time singing in Korean in public. These past few of months I got a bit sidetracked by other arts and aspects of life, but eventually I got the last bit of home recording done so that my sound engineer could finish up the tracks for the record. First day of recording the Sketches EP is a wrap! And this might be a good time to tell you some more about the project. Sketches differs from Early Works in many ways, but mainly in the fact that the five tracks on the new EP are all instrumentals. Since the release of Early Works last year, new songs have been piling up on top of the old ones. So, to avoid drowning in unreleased tunes, I’m working on a new EP titled Sketches. After more than half a year of planning and preparing the songs for the EP, the four days of recording passed by before I could really fathom what was going on. The EP project pushed me out of my comfort zone in more than one way. The thing that undoubtedly held the most potential discomfort for me was the portrait photography and teaser filming.
